TAP into Summer is a 5-day 4-night, dialogue intensive summer camp, hosted at Kirkridge Retreat Center. Rising 9-12 graders from each of the 8 high schools in Monroe County will have the opportunity to engage in constructive, challenging, and thought-provoking discussions with students from various types of backgrounds and opinions. We empower students with the necessary facilitation skills in order for them to lead and organize The Acceptance Project within their own highschools. Our mission is to engage students in constructive dialogue, to get them involved in our world's most controversial issues, and to spread, develop, and lead The Acceptance Project.

TAP is an acronym that stands for "The Acceptance Project." We are a student-run club, founded in 2017 at Stroudsburg Junior High School, with the mission of creating the mediators of tomorrow to continue the conversations of today. The club was formed in the wake of the highly divisive 2016 Presidential Election. Issues pertaining to race, politics, religion, gender, and identity were at an all-time high. We sought to give students the time, environment, and opportunity to discuss these issues, regardless of where they stood or what they believed.

We have now partnered with a local nonprofit, Monroe County United (MCU) to create "TAP into Summer." MCU has been "building relations and breaking barriers" in our community since its creation in 2016. Through the use of a generous Weiler Family Foundation grant, and the support of MCU, we aim to equip exceptional youth with the necessary skills and experience to change their communities through dialogue.
